I recently purchased the Pastry Queen dough blender and I have been thoroughly impressed with its performance. The blades are heavy-duty and really make the task of blending dough an absolute breeze. One of the best features of this pastry cutter is how easy it is to clean. After use, the dough comes off the blades effortlessly, and it's dishwasher-safe, which is really easy! I've also found that even after several uses and washes, the blades remain sharp and efficient.
Decided this would be perfect to replace my pastry cutter that has seen better days. Old one was slightly bent probably because of a drawer. This one is very strong and I couldn't bend the metal or squeeze it together. The teeth on it make it easier to really cut through nearly frozen butter. Before I'd just rinse my hands in very cool water and try to rub everything together so it was more of a pebble consistency and then go in with my old pastry cutter, don't need to anymore with this one.
Being a pastry baker I found the design of the handle the most practical I've ever held. The silicone/rubber coating makes it easier to handle and it comes down on the side of the cutter to cushion my thumb which I need to utilize when more force is required to cut through the butter.
Very effective pastry cutter tool. The handle has indents for finger grips making it very comfortable to hold. Also this is dishwasher safe which makes clean up a breeze! One of the best features of this tool is that three of the blades have serrated edges. This is a big advantage when needing to cut cold butter -makes it super easy! Great for any home baker!
